I wish I could talk to Roy Williams and see if he has even thought of my ideas about the basketball team! People are saying there is no chemistry with the players. I don't know how there couldn't be chemistry. They hang out together ALL the time. I can't believe that ALL of these high school All-Americans are bust. Roy needs to shake things up, drop some F-bombs, take them on that weekend that the fball coach did in "Remember the Titans." Do SOMETHING...because what he is doing isn't working!

I am glad that Cam Newton is eligible. I know, I love BAMA football, but I can also appreciate a damn good player, and my friend's, that is what Newton is in college football.

Dear LeBron........ I wish I could laugh in your face because you are such and egotistical douche, but I will just sit back and watch how the Heat is doing these days. I mean really??? Can you find a coach you like? No one else had a problem with the Heat coach until you came along with your whining and thinking you know more than anyone else. SOMETIMES experience DOES matter and SOMETIMES a coach knows how to coach more than a player... PHIL and MJ!

CONGRATS to the NY Giants for finding some DEFENSE! That game Monday night verses the Bears was BRUTAL. I am a Cowboys fan, but I do pull for the Giants because I am partial to the Mannings and if you didn't know...I am a Tar Heel fan at heart and LOVE me some Hakeem Nicks! All that being said, Peppers is NASTY! I mean really??? He is SO good that the Bears defensive coordinator tells JP he can line up on whatever side of the defense he wants??? THAT is crazy!!! "Hey Pepp, we don't care where you line up. You just get to the QB. Everyone else you better be in your right position!" I guess that is why they paid him $92.5 million or whatever it was!!!

I am sorry, but everyone is excited that Boise St beat Va Tech???? Boise St. gets 8 first place votes???? Last time I checked Boise St was ranked #3!!! Isn't a #3 team SUPPOSED to beat a #10 team???? Really, they only won by 3 points! I don't feel this is a "convincing win" that at all, nor would I feel that way if Va Tech would have won the game. PLUS, analyst were giving LSU grief for barely beating UNC...and I am a UNC fan, so I am not trying to not dog LSU, but....

I can't believe the Rays are competing for a playoff spot and they only get 13,000 people to come watch the game??? That is ridiculous! The Rays should move to Raleigh, NC. They would get major fan support!!!

30 for 30

If you aren't watching these documentaries on ESPN, you are seriously missing out as a sports fan! The shows and the subjects are AWESOME! "Without Bias", the story about Len Bias's tragic drug related death, has to be one of the best sports documentaries to date. My other favorites include "Run Ricky Run" (Ricky Williams' trials and tribulations away from football) "The U" (University of Miami back in the day), and "Muhammad and Larry"( which is an AWESOME look at the friendship between Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes. TONIGHT, at 8pm, on ESPN is "Jordan Rides the Bus" This is the MJ story you haven't heard. I know we all know about Michael quitting basketball and going to play baseball, but this story is supposed to delve deeper into Michael Jordan. This film will show us that Michael is NOT always the egotistical sports star that we "know"( although, I think he has earned the right to have a slightly big ego...he is the GREATEST basketball player of ALL TIME)! This is the story of Jordan, just trying to be good at a game that he loves, trying to do something for his father, trying to grieve, and wrestle with emotions he felt too soon. Just when you thought you knew everything about MJ, he gives his Hall of Fame speech, and lets us (the common man who CAN'T FLY), into his competitive spirit. Many people thought he came off as cocky after that speech. I do think he could have said some things differently, but when Jordan was done, I thought to myself, NOW that was a speech that I wasn't expecting and it was great to feel like I was in the mind of Micheal Jordan. Now we have "Jordan Rides the Bus"to show everyone, who has been dogging MJ for his lack of humility, that no one should judge. Those were some pretty BIG shoes Michael had to fill and his life is not OUR business out of "right." We should sit back and say "Thank you MJ" for letting us, your fans, see more than a glimpse of GREATNESS in our lifetime.

Speaking of the Cowboys, did anyone see Emmitt Smith's Hall of Fame induction speech? It was amazing! I LOVE the tears when Emmitt spoke about Darryl "Moose" Johnston. I consider myself lucky that I was able to watch, first hand, these men play football together in Dallas.

Also, my NYG friend, Chris, told me that Hakeem Nicks played all last season with a broken toe! WOW! I told Chris, Nicks would probably catch even MORE passes if ELI would actually THROW HIM THE BALL! As for the Giants, that new stadium is pretty AWESOME!

I saw a poll question that asked "Which rookie would you rather have on your team? McCoy, Bradford, Suh, Tebow, or Claussen" REALLY??? UMMMMMM..... A BOY NAMED SUH PLEASE! He is a BEAST!

I can't wait for college football! I will be at the UNC fball games in my Tar Heel gear CHEERING and scoping out the basketball team (hopefully watching Marvin Austin running around on the field making tackles), but I have the DVR set for THE TIDE to ROLL through the season and REPEAT as NCAA Champs!

I will probably watch some of it...at least Big Papi. Shout out to Red Sox Nation!!! Landon Donovan and Coach Bradley will be on The Daily Show and I am definitely DVR-ing that! GO USA Futbol, but what I am very interested in TODAY is an article that I read on my friend's facebook page.

It goes a little something like this....Phil Steele, who is apparently some sort of college football "expert," is saying that he "doesn't think that the QB position is going to keep Carolina (UNC) from being a contender." He goes on saying "With a defense like North Carolina has on the field, you can almost play the game where you don't turn the ball over and don't make mistakes, let the defense win the games."

Most fans of a college football team would take Phil Steele's comments and run with it (unless of course you are a fan of a football school and/or a SEC school! ROLL TIDE! I am pretty sure Nick Saban would be MORTIFIED if someone said that about his team!). However, I would LOVE for someone to point out this Mr. Steele at the next UNC football game. He, obviously, has not been to one where TJ Yates played, oh and either lost or tried his best to lose the game for the Heels. I would walk up to Mr. Steele, tap him ever so politely on the shoulder, and then in my sweetest southern voice say, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Mr. Steele, Do you know EVERY single time TJ touches the ball Tar Heel fans CRINGE and can barely watch the play?!?!" Honestly, I have been to games where I have had to cover my eyes for fear that TJ would do something stupid! I HOPE and PRAY (YES, I have been known to PRAY to the GREAT LORD ABOVE for a TAR HEEL VICTORY!) that Bryn Renner wins the starting QB position for the Heels this year, and that he does NOT have to "try to not make mistakes...." No, I want the offense to play very well. I want the defense to play EVEN BETTER! I WANT A QUARTERBACK THAT I CAN ACTUALLY BELIEVE IN AND CHEER FOR LOUDLY! Not a QB that I turn to my cousin and say, "well, I know it was 3 and out, but at least he didn't fumble the ball or throw an interception." Anxiety is not the feeling I want this season! Alabama won the BCS title last season(ROLL TIDE). Last time I checked, they were undefeated, and while their defense was GREAT, their offense was NOT JUST mediocre! So, Mr. Steele, this Tar Heel fan expects just a little more from the UNC football team this season! The Tar Heel basketball team.... that is a whole other expectation! GO HEELS!

So I am a female...

and I love sports! I, of course, have my favorites, NCAA basketball being first and foremost, but I can really watch almost any sport. I am excited about the World Cup (a little less excited with the exit of the US team), but when we were still in it, I would DVR the games and jump up and down screaming when the US team would do something well! I am a girly girl that loves to watch 2 teams or 2 competitors battle it out on the field, on the court, on the diamond, in the ring, etc.

Ok, so here is what makes me upset...

Guys (my guy friends at least) are always saying "I wish my girlfriend liked sports" or "that is awesome that you want to watch the football game." Well, you know what? It is NOT awesome! The male species uses sports to go to the bar and get away from the little woman, therefore THIS GIRL can't go because the other girls/girlfriends will get mad!?!?! What kind of BULL is that??? I WANT TO GO, and honestly, I probably know more about sports STATS than your male friend on his 5th beer, that will soon become your obnoxious male friend. WHY is it at all fair that I am expected to go shopping with the other girls, or go to the movies when I just want to watch the game????
